A Spanish Newspaper claimed Lionel Messi was reportedly interested in a shock transfer to Arsenal this summer before committing to Barcelona
Messi is said to have instructed his agent to enquire whether a transfer to the Gunners could take place, before Barcelona quickly moved to sort out his future.
The newspaper reports that Arsenal would have struggled to raise the required funds to secure the deal even if they were interested in signing the forward.
